Services & Evaluations

The following evaluations are available for legal proceedings, court referrals, and attorney-initiated cases in Northeast Florida. All evaluations include a written report suitable for court submission. Testimony and deposition services are available as a supplement to any evaluation.

Forensic Mental Health Evaluation

A comprehensive clinical and forensic assessment addressing a court-defined referral question. May include structured clinical interviews, psychometric testing, record review, and collateral contacts. Used in criminal, civil, and family law matters where mental health evidence is at issue.

Social Investigation (Parenting / Custody)

Comprehensive evaluation of family dynamics, parenting capacity, and child welfare factors relevant to custody and placement decisions. Includes interviews with all parties, collateral contacts, and a written report with recommendations to the court.

Competency to Proceed Evaluation

Assessment of a defendant’s current mental status as it relates to their ability to understand the nature of legal proceedings and meaningfully assist counsel. Conducted in compliance with Florida Statutes §916 standards.

Psychosexual Evaluation

Specialized evaluation assessing sexual history, attitudes, risk factors, and treatment needs in individuals involved in sex offense matters. Includes validated risk instruments and structured clinical review. Relevant for sentencing, probation, and treatment referral purposes.

Violence / Risk Assessment

Structured professional judgment evaluation assessing the nature and level of risk an individual poses for future violence or harmful behavior. Informs sentencing, civil commitment, and release planning decisions.

Incapacity / Guardianship Examination

Clinical evaluation of an individual’s functional and cognitive capacity as it pertains to their ability to make informed personal and financial decisions. Used in guardianship proceedings and related civil matters.

Fitness for Duty Evaluation

Assessment of an individual’s psychological fitness to perform the functions of a specific occupational role. Relevant for law enforcement, first responders, and other safety-sensitive positions.

Pre-Employment Mental Health Evaluation

Standardized psychological screening for candidates entering high-stakes or safety-sensitive roles. Assesses psychological suitability and identifies potential risk factors relevant to the position.

Expert Testimony & Deposition

Available as a supplement to any completed evaluation. Opinions are confined to findings documented in the written report. Testimony is provided with the same objectivity as the underlying evaluation — retaining party notwithstanding.

Record Review & Consultation

Independent clinical review of existing mental health records, prior evaluations, treatment history, and related documentation. Offered to attorneys and courts seeking an independent clinical perspective without a full evaluation.
